Who Are We?

The Santa Fe Soccer Complex board is comprised of a representative from each of the four member leagues and one independent member.

President –
Nic Smith

Nic is Executive Director of Rio Rapids Northern Soccer – the youth soccer league in Santa Fe, and Past President of the Santa Fe Adult Soccer League. He is an avid soccer player who is committed to creating more opportunities for the youth in Santa Fe to have access to, and play soccer. Outside of soccer, he is President of the Piñon Group, an international Management Consulting company.

Secretary/Treasurer –
Justin Najaka

Justin is on the Board of both AYSO and Rio Rapids Northern Soccer. He is a licensed soccer coach who has dedicated many years to coaching and developing soccer players in Santa Fe. He is Director of Compensation and Classification for the New Mexico State Personnel Office.

Board member –
David Sidebottom

David is the Board member representative from Rio Rapids Northern Soccer, where he has been Club President for a number of years. He is an avid (and fanatical) soccer enthusiast who grew up in Florida and then Saudi Arabia, playing ‘the beautiful game’. He is keen to ensure that there are fields and opportunities for all kids to be able to play the beautiful game. He is AVP of Century Bank.

Board Member –
Cesar Bernal

Originally from Zacatecas in Mexico, Cesar has been instrumental in the creation and growth of the Hispanic adult and youth league, La Liga, in Santa Fe. A long time soccer player and fan he is dedicated to creating opportunities for kids to play soccer here in Santa Fe.

Board member –
Brian Laws

Brian is the Board member representative from SFASL, where he is club treasurer. He is a graduate of Southern Utah University and a keen soccer player. A long time Santa Fe resident he has 2 children who play soccer and he also coaches in the Rio Rapids Northern Development Program. He is a CPA with Zlotnick, Laws and Sandoval.
